I've been eyeing the multi-color skirt from Vera Wang (above) for ages, thinking, how lovely it will be for Spring. But then it occurred to me that it would be just as lovely now. It cheers me to think of wearing colors that bring the brightness and warmth that is lacking outside this time of year. The versatility of the skirt is nice, as well- an explosion of color amidst the layers of warm knits + tights for winter, to be stripped down to bare essentials come springtime.

Valentino Couture, 2009. Photography by Erik Madigan Heck. Nomenus Quarterly.
Valentino understands the importance of drama, of the time and place for extravagance, of tension and play between the elements in a garment. This is why he is the greatest. I am enchanted by these photographs of the 2009 couture collection. The photographer, Erik Madigan Heck, adeptly captures the essence of that Valentino theatricality- a quality that shines even in black and white.
Oh, Oscar, you've done it again! Thank you for the glorious mustards, unabashed pinks, tone-on-tone slate grey, and all the feminine details throughout. You always seem to know what a modern, elegant woman wants. I can't tell you how much I adore these designs.
Soon-to-be-M.D., daydream believer, and caffeine addict...I love fashion, and since there's little of that in my daily life, I started this project to ogle beautiful things, make one-day wish lists and meet like-minded folk. Welcome!
